Is there a housing shortage in Maastricht?

Are there waiting lists?

  • Maastricht does not use waiting lists. The offers from the housing corporations are managed via subscriptions lists that are cleared every week. The members who have been registered the longest are most likely to get a room. The living spaces offered on the private market can be accessed freely and you can apply for as many as you like.

I’m not from Maastricht. Is it possible to get preferential treatment?

  • Maastricht Housing offers a longer registration to students and masters who come from outside the EU.
  • Members with such a status have a higher chance of obtaining unfurnished housing through housing corporations. They have no special advantage on the private market.
